When Peeking is a Good Thing
See this pic on the right? Well, it’s just a fraction of how I’m feeling right now.
James and Harry just sent me a peek at EditQuest. [I'm not linking. You can't see yet.]
Oh. My. GOD. You won’t believe.
Well, yes you will. Look who’s doing it, after all. But you will still be totally blown away. I guarantee it. It is…
PERFECT!! It ROCKS! It is the coolest site I’ve ever seen for an editor, ever. I want to say other things, but I don’t want to offend anyone. Oh, what the hell. Forgive me: I think it’s the most awesome site, period!
I…I just…I’m in awe! To tell you the absolute truth, I fully expected to have to say I didn’t really like it, or it wasn’t quite what I was expecting. Because although I’ve loved everything they’ve put out for everyone else (even one that hasn’t been released yet, which you will also really love when it comes out), I am a control freak. I think no one could possibly really get exactly what I want. I love MwP but I thought, how can everyone be so totally agreeable ALL THE TIME? How can the Men be so bang on every time, with everyone? (I said to Wendi today, Harry seems to capture so well the individuals behind the sites. He certainly got me.)
Well. They’re just that good, really, and there are several reasons why. I have to add myself to the list of fawners. These dudes are gif-ted. Harry is uncannily intuitive.
And I sneakingly suspect that they showed this to me now because of my current insecurity. Because there is no way, no WAY, after seeing this, that I could possibly feel like a loser.
Smart dudes. Clever dudes.
The site is incredible.
Just you wait.

Steph,
Woo-hoo! Knowing the work the Men do, I believe you – it is incredible, and I can say this without even seeing it.
Can’t wait to see it – but I’ll have to wait…
-Brett
Brett: Are you pouting?!
These dudes are gif-ted. Harry is uncannily intuitive. Smart dudes. Clever dudes.
Okay, look, I want that in a testimonial to post on my site. Seriously. Those are just good words. Period.
Steph, you made my day. This is what makes us constantly try to out do ourselves. We realized a long time ago that creating sites isn’t about us. It’s about you, the client. We don’t want our sites to look the same, they’re not supposed to. With each theme we create we take chances. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t, but we want everyone to have something as unique as their own individual personalities.
I may be quiet, but I do observe. I read all the comments on MwP, I read them here, and on Brett’s blog, Rogue’s blog, Wendi’s blog and everyone else’s. It’s through those blogs and their communities that I get a feel for the person I’m designing for.
James does the same thing – only he’s far more vocal than I am
Anyway, I can’t wait for this one to premier either. It’s going to be amazing.
@ James: Take ‘em. Keep ‘em. Treasure ‘em. Post ‘em. Hell, frame ‘em if you want. It was my pleasure and it is the Truth, with a capital T.
And you saying I wrote good words, well I’m framing that.
@ Harry: ….and that’s exactly why I love you, and what I love about you.
Also, you’ve given me the impetus I need to get that ebook finished and the blog posts and all that done.
Thank you for everything. It makes me happy I made your day. Because you definitely made mine!
You know what else, guys? I am so happy you’re working on something you really like and think is cool too.
When even you’re excited, it makes it that much better!
Yay, Steph! Can’t wait to see the finished product! (When are you launching?)
Hey Rebecca: Good question. Last night I wrote all the site text, but I haven’t set a date. I am hoping to have one ebook, a free workbook, and two banks of blog posts ready (one of guest posts) before the launch. I’d say I want to be launching in September, but with other (paying) work to do, it’s going to be a bit hard. I’m not such a fast writer. At least, I didn’t think I was. Last night surprised me!
Well, whenever it is, please make sure to let us know. I’m dying to see it! Good luck -
Will do for sure! Now if only the power would stop kicking out. Storm overhead!
Harry is…a mind reader I think. He sucks your mind right out of the internet and peeks inside of it to see what you are visualizing and then goes off humming to himself while he casually creates it as if he thought it up himself.
HE thinks no one will figure it out…but I did. NO ONE can be that perfect all the time.
But I don’t care. I still love him. Second only to my husband, I love Harry best.
Wendi: I know what you mean!
All right. I have to shut ‘er down until this storm passes. It’s a really close one and I’ve lost power three times already. I hate this depending on a computer. Of course all my work is on it!!
Poor Lucy is hiding in the tub.
Steph
Get off the fence.
Tell us what you REALLY think of Men with Pens.
Friar: I know! I couldn’t help it. You really should see it.
Too much touchy-feely for you?
@Steph
Hey, when I update my Blog site, I’ll be giving Harry and James a call myself…!
Yeah Friar just you wait….
soon it will be you gushing over the amazing mind-stealing vision-zapping Harry and his ability to get the inside of Friar’s brain on to a banner and a website.
Wait…..
IS the world READY for that??!?!?!?!?!
Maybe you should take your time…….
@ Wendi: Ahahahaha! Good one!
@ Friar: I can’t wait. And I want to see you with a professional artist’s site, too, buddy!
PS. Yes, that didn’t last too long, shutting down the computer. I think the storm has finally passed and I can get to work. Dog is calm and out of the tub (lying by my feet now), so all is well.
Ha. And just as a said that, huge clap of thunder. Sigh.
Patience is not my strong suit. In fact, I have absolutely no patience….
I can’t wait!
Beth: Mwuahahaha. Exxxxcellent. Because if I gave in and showed you all, my impetus to write everything I have to first wouldn’t be a strong. Your collective impatience, though? I’m using it!
Don’t get me wrong, though. It’s so hard not to show you. I’m tempted. I’m so excited about it, you see. That’s hard not to share.
I couldn’t agree more with you Steph – Harry with his images and James with his words have done magic on my site as well. It makes me want to post, to reply to comments, to gaze adoringly at it…
Alex: I know what you mean: I suspect I’ll be spending a lot of time at EditQuest myself, just fawning and loving the atmosphere and writing. These guys are making my job a lot less like a job!!
